THE NEW SCHOOL PHYSICAL EDUCATION POLICY

 

 

Aims

Students can be encouraged through experience regarding the value and benefits of participation in physical activity whilst at school and throughout life.  Students should be made aware of their roles as members of teams or groups which in turn promote inter-personal and problem solving skills.

Physical Education hopes to:

á          Encourage students to achieve

á          Engage in purposeful activity

á          Encourage students to lead full and valuable lives

á          Develop physical competence and promote physical development

 

Curriculum

At present the curriculum is organised so students receive up to 1hour of physical education/organised games activities, i.e. table tennis, indoor football or pool; per week in single or mixed sessions and take place in the on-site church hall.  The students follow a broad curriculum in Outwitting Opponents, Exploring and Communicating Ideas, Concepts and Emotions and Identifying and Solving Problems.
