SCHOOL ADMISSIONS
Admissions 2011
The
New School has 24 full-time places on offer with availability for part-time
packages also.
TCHA
follows Staffordshire County Council Admissions Policy which can be found on
the Staffordshire County Council website.
A written copy can be made available upon request.
At
the start of the academic year:
2010
– 2011 there were 21 students on roll.
The New School Day
The
school day is divided into 4 periods of 45 minutes with a daily 40 minute
access to a tutor time slot, a morning break and lunch break.
There
is a morning registration at the start of the day, recording the attendance
electronically, with students expected to be in place to begin sessions
promptly at 09.30 hrs. Attendance
is recorded to promote the importance of punctuality with a late mark being
issued after 09.30 hrs.
There
is an afternoon registration officially starting the afternoon session taken
promptly at 12.20 hrs. A late mark
is issued after 12.30 hrs.
At
lunchtime a snack meal is available for all students, if they wish and are
provided free of charge. Students
requiring a meal are expected to have this before leaving the premises. Permission to leave the premises at
break and lunchtimes is sought from parents and those without permission remain
on the premises. Permission
requests form part of the interview/induction process.

The
school day ends at 14.00 hrs with all students making their own way home. However, there is a facility for any
student to wait for transport for up to 15 minutes before contact is made with
parents.
A minimum annual fee payable of £7215.00
There
is also a public service bus which runs daily Monday
– Friday.
