TCHA provides supported housing, training and education services to vulnerable and disadvantaged young people in the age range 16-25 years. Our overall objective is to equip service users with the ability to enter the labour market and/ or access further training and education, and to sustain a tenancy in the community or return to a stable home environment. We do this by the way of trained support workers working with the young person to develop an individual support plan which encompasses the five outcomes of "Economic Wellbeing, Be Healthy, Stay Safe, Enjoy and Achieve and Making a Positive Contribution". The onsite Learning and Skills unit supports this by means of a practical life skill programme and a Youth Achievement Awards course. All service users are expected to participate in the Life Skills Programme. There are also opportunities, again on site, to study academic and vocational subjects. We also arrange move on accommodation through Choice Based Lettings, Private Renting Schemes and Shared Accommodation etc providing resettlement support.
If the support needed falls outside of the TCHA remit, the young person will be referred to the appropriate agency such as Bromford Housing floating support services etc.
